Who We Are

Our Staff

Lead Pastor Bob Yates

Lead Pastor Bob Yates and wife, Nila, believe in the power of people working together to fulfill the true ministry and mission of Jesus Christ. We are all called to work together to be the "Hands and Feet of Jesus" in a world that needs to see authentic Christ-likeness in action. Pastor Bob and Nila believe we come together in worship to encourage and build up one another, to share our burdens and hurts, and to go out renewed, healed, and empowered to make a difference for Christ in our community. Pastor Bob was born in Sasebo City, Japan and reflects the multi-cultural nature of our church family. Pastor Bob  attended Point Loma Nazarene University and finished his educational studies through Luther Rice Seminary with a BA in Biblical Studies and a Master's of Divinity Degree in Religion. He also teaches pastor's training for full-time Christian ministry. Nila was born and raised in San Diego, California. She has a degree in accounting and works in the Florida educational system and has a great heart for our children and teens. Together, they receive their greatest joy from seeing people fulfill the destiny that God has designed for each of us.

 Our Beliefs

The Church of the Nazarene is a Protestant Christian church in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition, tracing its roots to an anniversary date of 1908. It was founded to spread the message of scriptural holiness (Christlike living) across the lands. Today the Church of the Nazarene is located in 151 world areas.
The Church of the Nazarene is a Great Commission church. We believe that God offers to everyone forgiveness, peace, joy, purpose, love, meaning in life, and the promise of heaven when life is over by entering and experiencing a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We are called to take this message to people everywhere. .
The Church of the Nazarene is also a holiness church. We believe that Christians can experience a deeper level of life in which there is victory over sin, power to witness and serve, and a richer fellowship with God, all through the infilling of the Holy Spirit.

You'll enjoy contemporary choruses as well as traditional hymns led by our talented worship team. You'll receive practical Bible based messages that will help build your faith and strengthen you during the week.

 The Dress:

We're a friendly, relaxed group. We're more concerned with meeting the needs of your heart than with what you wear. So, dress casual and you will be right at home.

The Kids:

Our children are our most precious treasure. Rest assured that they are in good hands whether in the nursery, in their Sunday School class, or in Children's Church while mom and dad are in "Big Church".

The Offering:

The offering is for those who are a part of our United Church family. Instead of wanting you to give we want you to receive encouragement, joy and faith.
